Give your child an experience they won't forget. Our summer soccer camps focus on player development through 25 hours of training each week. Main topics of the game will be featured such as ball manipulation/dribbling, Passing/Receiving, Shooting/Finishing - all executed through individual and team drills and small sided games.

The camp is led by Ritchie Wilson, International Player Development and Hamilton United's Billy McKenna - OPDL Head Coach.

Holding the coveted UEFA Pro Licence, Scottish FA Youth coaching licence and the Scottish FA Advanced Children’s coaching licence, Ritchie has been coaching for 25 years, with 18 of those years spent working within the Football Development Department of the Scottish FA. During this period Ritchie had a specific focus on developing and improving players and coaches from both the grassroots and professional game and had responsibility for the following National Projects:

  • The development of the Scottish FA LTPD and National Player Pathway Initiatives
  • The coordination & delivery of UEFA & Scottish FA Licence level Coach Education Courses & the Management of Tutor Training programme for all Scottish FA Course Tutors
  • The Scottish FA 2020 Player Development project for talented players aged 9-12
  • Futsal development & the Scotland National Futsal Team

Ritchie has also previously been involved with Scotland International Youth squads, most notably being Head Coach of U19 Women’s team at the 2008 European Championships and has worked as a Youth Development coach for Glasgow Rangers FC and 1st team Assistant coach for Dumbarton FC in the Scottish 1st Division. More recently he has been working within Saudi Arabia as a Technical Consultant to the Saudi Arabia Football Federation & Technical Director of Coerver Coaching KSA & Stella Football Academy

Joining Ritchie this year as camp counsellor will be his son Alex. Alex is following in his father’s footsteps as both a player and a coach. He currently plays at Rep level for St. Mirren Athletic in the Paisley & District league and has already achieved his Scottish FA & Coerver Coaching Level 1 certificates. We look forward to welcoming both Ritchie & Alex this summer.
