Our vision is to become one of the leading soccer clubs in Ontario through the Gold Standard of Club Excellence – providing premium soccer programming that aligns with Long Term Player Development.
Both Clubs have obtained numerous awards and accolades:

- OSA – Meritorious Services and Volunteer Awards
- Community – Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Soccer Club/Lessons, Best Soccer Development/Programs
- Community – Through ongoing support of local charities
Below is a brief history of the two clubs.
Saltfleet “Go Ahead” Soccer Club
In 1965, a group of people living in what was then called the township of Saltfleet decided to form a single senior soccer team. The members of the group were new Canadians who had emigrated from Holland.
The name “Go-Ahead” was adopted from a well-known Dutch First Division soccer team. Thus, the Saltfleet Go Ahead Soccer Club was born. The team colours, orange, white and black were chosen from their beloved National side. The Saltfleet Go Ahead Soccer Club had its humble beginnings and was rooted in exhibiting sportsmanship and setting high standards in the game brought popularity and respect. The multitude of volunteers that joined and eventually replaced the individuals that founded the Club never lost sight of the values instilled in them by their predecessors.
Over the years, registration grew from the handful on the original team to over 4,000 players ranging from age 3 to 18 including adult leagues. The house league program grew to over 150 teams.
The competitive youth program has had many teams playing within the Hamilton and District Multi-Jurisdictional Club (MJ), the Regional Golden Horseshoe Soccer League (GHSL), and the Ontario Youth Soccer League (OYSL).
In 2007, the Club introduced Saltfleet Soccer Special Teams (SSST) – a unique program that catered to youth and young adults with learning disabilities to experience the game of soccer. The dedicated group of volunteers teach the basic skills of the game in a fun and developmental atmosphere.
In 2010, Saltfleet moved their office from Sherwood Park to the new state-of-the-art indoor sports complex – Players Paradise that allowed them to provide indoor programming 8 months of the year in a premium turf facility.
In 2012, Saltfleet updated the branding of the Club, unveiling a new, modern logo but still keeping ties with their heritage of values, the Saltfleet name and team colours.
Stoney Creek Soccer Club
The Stoney Creek Soccer Club was incorporated in 1977 and was affiliated with the Hamilton-Wentworth Youth Soccer Association (HWYSA). It was composed of a few teams and age groups playing games between other clubs in the HWYSA area. These games were played out of Cherry Heights for full pitch games and the old Saltfleet High School for mini pitch games. The Stoney Creek Soccer Club is a proud founding sponsor of the Hamilton Soccer Hall of Fame.
The Clubs logo was the Stoney Creek Monument Tower flanked by ½ of the Canadian Maple Leaf on the left and ½ of a soccer ball to the right which was updated 7 years ago to reflect the current club and the club Rep & Select team name “Battalions” adopted. The team colours are red, white and black.
In the early days while membership grew slowly a house league was developed. In 1992 a whole new executive was voted in and the club’s membership grew dramatically due to new and innovative ideas – one of which was being the first club in Stoney Creek to offer Preschool soccer (U5) now called “Timbits”.
The house league divisions began to grow from 460 players to 1,400 players in 2015. By 2002 the club was able to offer its members full programs in House League, WWISL, Select and Rep which has taken the club to its current membership of 2,000+ players. The present day Stoney Creek Soccer Club now has over 23 Select and Rep teams, ranging from U7 to U17 with many teams elevating in caliber and many division & tournament championships won.
